About Word Chain Games
Word Chain Games is a small, independent site for word chain puzzles and the word games around them. It comes from the team behind Play Higher Lower, and follows the same idea: quick games that work in any browser, with no account and no download.
How the puzzles are made
Every chain is built from a hand-checked bank of compound words and everyday phrases. A chain is only valid if each neighbouring pair is in that bank, so the puzzles never rely on obscure trivia. Easier levels use only the most familiar pairs. The daily chain is fixed in advance, so everyone gets the same one.
The last letter game and shiritori check your words against a large English word list built on SCOWL. If a real word is rejected, tell us and we will add it.
